How the World’s Top Celebrities Are Bringing the 2024 Paris Olympics to New Audiences

Some of the top celebrities in the world are using their fan bases to promote the 2024 Paris Olympics. Among the stars of a team selected by NBCUniversal are Snoop Dogg, Dolly Parton, and Jimmy Fallon.

Opening Ceremony Hosts

NBCUniversal will be using voices that resonate with the American public. Kelly Clarkson, Peyton Manning, and Mike Tirico will host the Opening Ceremony on July 26th. This will be the first time Kelly Clarkson joins NBC’s Olympic coverage. The original American Idol, well-known on The Voice as a judge, now hosts ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show.’

Former American football quarterback, Peyton Manning, played in the NFL for 18 seasons and holds many NFL records. Sports and U.S. sports betting are a huge part of American culture, and Manning is a cultural hero. Mike Tirico is the voice of NBC Sports’ biggest events and has been involved in Olympic coverage since 2016.

Opening Ceremony Commentators

Olympic veterans Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb will stand together on a bridge along the route. They will report on the excitement and pageantry as the athletes sail past. Additional opening ceremony commentators will still be announced.

Promo Stars

Lily Collins stars as Emily Cooper in the popular Netflix series ‘Emily in Paris.’ In a fun commercial, she pitches an unusual uniform design for Team USA’s sprinter, Noah Lyles, to some network executives. At the Tokyo Olympics, Lyles won a bronze medal. Of all the events on the Olympics schedule for 2024, the performance of this sprinter is one not to miss.

Paris Hilton made an appearance in a 20-second promo during coverage of an NFL Wild Card Playoff Game in 2023. The promo played in her name and her disappointment that all the attention would be on the athletes performing in the French capital and not on her.

Megan Thee Stallion, a three-time Grammy-winning recording artist, stars in the second promo spot of the fall campaign. In ‘The Paris Olympics,’ the artist performs at the Palace of Versailles. Her backup dancers are dressage horses.

Alex Cooper

Alex Cooper is a creator, host, and executive producer of the podcast ‘Call Her Daddy.’ This is the most-listened podcast by women from across the world. She will be at the Paris Olympics to host ‘Watch with Alex Cooper.’

This will be a series of live interactive watch parties that will stream on Peacock. It will feature Cooper and some soon-to-be-announced special guests who will share their thoughts and insights on events. They will answer questions from fans on social media in real time.

Snoop Dogg – Special Correspondent

Global superstar Snoop Dogg will be on-site in Paris to provide regular reports for the Olympic Prime Time Show. He will talk with Mike Tirico and offer his insights on iconic landmarks, events, and athletes.

Snoop Dogg generated tens of millions of views when commenting on the Dressage competition in the Tokyo Olympics that was streamed on Peacock. Watching Olympic events helps people de-stress, and Snoop will add his unique style as the Special Correspondent in Paris to offer even more entertainment.

Dolly Parton – Olympic Anthem

Dolly Parton is a huge fan of the Olympics and aligned with NBCU to produce an Olympic-themed video celebrating the athletes. The Olympic song “We Are the Champions/We Will Rock You” is her cover of Queen’s famous rock anthem and a new song from her upcoming album ‘Rock Star.’

Jimmy Fallon – Closing Host

Jimmy Fallon, Emmy Award-winning host of ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,’ will join Mike Tirico to host NBCU’s coverage of the Olympic Games closing ceremony. This will be his Olympic debut as a commentator. Joining Jimmy and Mike will be Terry Gannon, Tara Lipinski, and Johnny Weir. NBC and Peacock will present live coverage of the Closing Ceremony from the Stade de France on Sunday, August 11th.
